Instant Refreshers

Stayed up late watching the Olympics again, and now you’re paying the price?

Or maybe your job is just plain boring.

Either way, you can barely keep your eyes open, and your head is about to slam against your desk.

Here are a few pick-me-ups I use to keep awake during slow days in my home office. I believe they’ll also help you make it until quitting time. After all, your job does keep you in eye shadow and lip gloss.

Evian Mineral Water Spray – I keep a 1.7 ounce bottle of this trusty spray in my purse at all times. A quick spritz of this fine mist, not only wakes me up, it revitalizes my early morning make-up. I buy mine in a 3-pack at Sephora for $16.50.

Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller – I initially bought product for its claims to decongest puffiness and diminish dark circles under my eyes. Does it work? Hmmm… not really. Still, I love it! This serum applied with a rollerball pen is cooling and oh-so-refreshing. Caffeine is touted on the box as an ingredient. Maybe that’s why one swipe is as delightful and stimulating as a cup of afternoon java. You can find this at any drug or discount store, but I bought one at Walgreens for $12.99.

Stride Sugarfree Gum in Sweet Peppermint – WOW! What a blast of peppermint. The super strong taste of mint in this long-lasting gum is like a smack in the face. It’s totally worth the $1.20 I paid for it at Walgreens.

Well, those are my top three revivers. Anybody else?

  1. Love your pics, I have a similar facial spray from Sephora it is by Claudie. I have seen those under eye roller pens at CVS but it's good to know they are refreshing. And I have also tried that gum...mintyy goodness :-)
To take up I usually splash water on my face..lol

  2. I'll have have to try that gum. I'm careful with peppermint flavors. Sometimes they have that Pepto taste.

  5. I need to get a spray bottle like that...or something! I get those mid-afternoon dropsies and they can be hard to resist, esp when I'm trying to get the baby to nap. So easy to just lay down with her and zzzzz......

  10. I forgot about Evian spray. It's an old fave of mine that I have not used in a long time. I must pull that out again. Thanks!

  11. I was hoping that you would say how much the puffy eye product worked, because I was going to send my female friend to buy me an entire case.

There are repeated occasions where I suffer from insomnia.

  12. Keep in mind ya'll, while the pen is indeed refreshing - that's it. It doesn't really help with dark circles.

@PJD - I've seen the Claudie spray and have thought about trying it. Will sample next time I'm in Sephora.

@THSP - Stride doesn't have that chaulky, Pepto taste. It's strong, but good.

@B - Sephora is good about keeping it in stock.

@RenRen - My husband can sleep with his eyes wide open. Wish I could.

@Molly - Hi! I love your blog and JCrew!

@Yummy - A walk is my first choice too!

@BGG, Gwyneth, Kwana - Try the spray. I think ya'll will like it.

@Jamie - Stride comes is fruity flavors too.

@Writer - I often do go back to bed, that why I don't have more books out.

@Don - Pen works as a refresher only. Doesn't really help dark circles. Thanks for popping in. I love your blog!
