I Think I Bought Ugly Shoes????

These shoes are either:

a) Cute!

or

b) Damn ugly!

I marched over to Target's electronic department to try them on for Mr. Phyllis, who looked down at my feet and laughed. They're super comfy so I bought 'em anyway.

What do y'all think, yay or nay?!?!?!

P.S. If you're interested they're also available online for $24.99: Women's Merona® Micki Suede Athleisure Mary Jane Shoes - Black

  4. These shoes feel like sneakers. Your foot just says, "aaaahhh" when you slip them on.

Farrah, I'd wear them with jeans. Maybe a skirt and dark tights when it gets colder.

PJD, I'm thinking they're so ugly, they're cute! Maybe?

  5. The stitch looks little bit vibrant... you need a trendy outfit to match with these shoes.

  6. I like them. They're a lot cuter than the Birkenstocks and Fitflops that I wear. Getting comfortable shoes at such a good price, you can laugh at people who make fun of your shoes.

  7. @Florsheim Fan - Thanks for stopping by! You know, I couldn't figure out what was bugging me about them. You're right - it's the stitch. Should be black.

@Shauna Roberts - There is something to be said about comfortable shoes that you can just slip and go!

  8. Thanks @deltapurl! I'm gonna hold on to them another week or two before deciding.

  9. I'm a no, mainly because I don't like contrast top-stitching. I'm old enough to be wiser and let comfort rule the day but sadly, I've still got a ways to go. :D

  10. Sigh. I also struggle w/comfort vs. style.

  11. Phyllis, comfort takes a lot of beating. If your feet are happy, you are happy. I say wear them with pride. You can always colour in the stitching with a black permanent market (try it on an inconspicuous area first).

  12. I think they have the quality to be both. But with the right outfit and attitude anything can be fly and fab :)

  13. @Fiona - Great idea on the permanent marker! Very true about happy feet. Uncomfortable shoes can make the coolest event miserable.

@Calming - I do have a few outfits I think they're perfect for. LOL! The fact that the shoes are a bit ugly are kinda part of their charm.

  16. This is a tough one. I think they can be cute with the right length and cut of pants (slightly shorter?). You can cute them up and if they of comfy, keep them.

  17. Kwana, it's been tougher to decide than I thought, but I'm leaning toward keeping them. Well, today I am. LOL! Tomorrow, who knows?

  18. Hmm, tough call. I don't hate them and if they're comfortable, I say keep them. Just be careful of when you wear them. They are a little "special" and will only compliment the right outfit. =)

  19. Ummm...almost. They wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the mule back.

  20. @mrstdj - LOLOLOL!!!!! 'They are a little special' - has me cracking up.

@K. Rock - Thanks for chiming in! I think I need to pull out that receipt!

  21. I just bought these last night and was wondering the same thing. I took them home and my roomie said they were cute with pants on. I really do think they are so ugly they are cute and much cuter in person than the picture. These things are SO comfortable there is no way I'm returning them. I lucked out and got mine on clearance for $12
