Ever have a weekend from hell?
I won’t bore you with the details, but this past one was a doozy!
In the aftermath, a person might turn to classic, reliable, comfort foods like mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, or meatloaf to recover.
With the weekend’s stress wrecking havoc on my skin, I also turned to a classic - Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque.
Yep, that’s right. I reached past the pricier brands in my bathroom cabinet, all boasting the latest and greatest in high-tech ingredients, for this simple drugstore cheapie.
Like comfort food, I knew Queen Helene would make it all better.
I smoothed the thick, green clay on cleansed skin. The fresh, mint scent gave me an instant aromatherapy boost while the mask dried. It took about 10 minutes.
After spending a few more minutes running around the house pretending to be a space monster, I wet a washcloth with very warm water, squeezed out the excess and placed it over my face. I held it there a few minutes to soften the mask before scrubbing it off.
The result: Tightened pores, eradicated whiteheads and fresh, perky skin that practically glowed.
Queen Helene has been promoted from my bathroom cabinet product cave to my countertop.
Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque is available at most drug and discount stores for under $4 a tube.
Hope you are recovering from the weekend.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the cheapies are the best. And being a space monster can be food for the soul.

ReplyDeleteI understand those type of weekends. Sadly mine was quite the same.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad an old friend came to the rescue!

Sorry to hear about your weekend. Hope it's all better now.
ReplyDeleteBoy, talk about an oldie but goody. I remember this from my high school days when I attended Passaic County Tech majoring in Cosmetology and still thought I was going to be a hairdresser one day. LOL. Luckily, or unluckily depending on how you look at it, I never could get the knack for holding the comb and the curling iron in my had at the same time while I worked so I transfered to an academic high school. But now you have me fondly remembering the days when we would practice giving each other facial with Queen Helene. I'm running to the drug store to go get some now... :-)

ReplyDeleteI love Queen Helene. I call it ghetto cream. Because you can find it in the most run down beauty supply stores and in the bins at big lots sometimes. Right next to the big jars of ghetto green hair grease (aka soft sheen) Lol!
ReplyDeleteOh wow I totally forgot about that amazing MASK! It's great! My pimples would shrink after using it. Gotta check it out again. I know someone chucked it..lol
